I think that makes the chat look a bit crowded, maybe hovering over the message shows the timestamp instead. Something like that. I like the idea though.

Have it toggleable, and maybe ditch the seconds to save space.
Alternatively, it could show the time when you hover the mouse over the message.

Yeah it looks like it has too much space in the chatroom itself. I think a toggleable option would be fine

Could just do it like
21:40
I don't think the seconds are necessary and it lowers the clutter without them
also I think it'd be better to have on the left of the names and in bold like
21:40 Camer999: 🐉
21:42 Frigid: Hello!
The time could just be client based on the system the person is running

Maybe if you hover over the message in the chat it could show the time in a little bubble

Yeah the PR2 chat really isn't big enough for this to look right, I like the idea of hovering your cursor over a message and the timestamp showing then

I've wanted to add this for a while. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has seen messages that could've been sent hours and hours ago and wondered when they were actually sent.
ActionScript can actually detect the timezone to which your computer is set and use that one. I actually plan to include timezone support for everything in the PR2 client at some point. Alternatively, it could be relative time (e.g., just now, 2 hours ago, etc), but I like the idea of time better. The client is already using the user's timezone to display a level's updated date.

I really didn’t intend my example pic in the bio to be professional or look official as this is an example and speaks for its self.

I was thinking, because sometimes there isn't a lot of space, maybe when you hover the message the timestamp could replace the message itself.
