Tl;dr: do you still have all your wisdom teeth, or have you gotten rid of them?

I know some of you could care less about this topic, but I’m going to touch on it anyway because I’m different and I like to explore things that you guys won’t. Do you guys still have your wisdom teeth, or did you have to get them removed for some reason? It’s that hidden, special third molar in the back of your mouth (that helps with chewing) that’s extremely difficult to floss.

If this guy isn’t fully erupted, then it’s going to cause major problems, eventually. Most people have problems with their wisdom teeth and some are born with none at all. Genetics isn’t exactly on everyone’s side, so they either end up with 28 teeth, or 4 special 3rd molars that don’t properly erupt. However, some of you are lucky and end up with perfect teeth and fully erupted wisdom teeth. But that’s only a small percentage of people in the world, unfortunately.

Red flags of people with impacted wisdom teeth:

🚩Swollen gums

🚩Painful chewing

🚩Bad taste in your mouth

All these things come from wisdom teeth growing in vertically, horizontally, mesially, and distally.

I wasn’t born with any, so I guess that’s a plus

I have all my wisdom teeth with zero issues. I guess you can say that I have a big mouth... Unfortunately, I had to get one of my first molars removed, though.

I got all my wisdom teeth removed at 14 at the same time an extra tooth was removed, I don't believe there were any issues with my wisdom teeth at the time but just to get it out of the way I had them removed

I had them removed when I was younger, had it done at a hospital. It was going to cause me issues and push my teeth.

What was going on with that first molar, if you don’t mind me asking? My issue with my wisdom teeth was due to cavities and eating a lot of candy. That’s why I had to get rid of them all.

14?? Wow, that’s a really early time to have wisdom teeth. I’m guessing the extra tooth was probably behind one of the front ones. That means you had 33. Well, if there were no issues, I probably would have kept those wisdom teeth for chewing purposes.

It sounds really agonizing just thinking about it. It must have been an emergency since you went to the hospital. I had my last one removed at an orthodontist because a quack dentist screwed it up the first time.

Haven't had mine removed only ever had the base of a front tooth removed after it broke. One of my wisdom teeth has erupted and my dentist sees no problem with it so it's all still there.

Damn, that sucks to hear that it broke. Hopefully it’s not too noticeable, now. I wonder how it broke off in the first place. Yeah as long as your wisdom teeth aren’t bothering you, then there’s no need.

The extra tooth was somewhere above my front teeth, it was found in an x-ray or whatever, wasn't anything visible from the outside (but may have eventually grown out and been visible)

Yeah, not a problem. Mainly my sinuses go pretty deep to my gumline, so there was not much foundation in that area to begin with. Plus, my dentist said I had a bad cavity in that tooth when I was younger that had to be filled. One day I bit into something, and it cracked in half on the spot. Now I have an implant there.

not really noticeable at all aside from me being able to feel the fake tooth since it's got a slightly different texture.
it broke off at the base after I got my face kicked in by someone 3 years ago or so.

It’s a good thing they found it because otherwise it may have caused problems, eventually.

Oh man, I’m sorry to hear that. Well at least you no longer have to deal with the pain of that infected tooth anymore. The thing about sinuses being related to tooth issues (and I’d imagine it was the top tooth you had) is that it can also cause headaches as well. Hopefully the implant isn’t causing you any problems. I hear too many stories from dentists on YouTube saying not to get them.

That’s when you gotta give them a receipt. My uncle lost his front teeth when he was a child due to someone pushing him down to the ground.

I got all of mine pulled years ago. I don't remember it at all, they knocked me out with nitrous oxide. First thing I remember was being loopy in the car with a mouthful of gauze.

Nitrous oxide? Damn, you’re lucky. They literally had me wide awake for those tooth extractions.
