The issue is keeping that data up-to-date. It seems simple in principle, but I have yet to see such a list being actively and accurately maintained after a long time has gone by and lots of tiny fixes have come through.

This is why version control is a thing, really. But it's hard to use version control software with something like MyBB and use those diffs to aid version updates.

I use 1.8.5 (for reasons explained here), but the plugin should still work. I just built it into a .zip since I had it as a single loose file.

What version of MyBB are you using? It's not currently shown at the bottom.
I might have a few plugins/code/stuff you can use (such as the noparse tag plugin), but that depends on the version you're using.
