I hope some of you will get it

I am on a factory with just two employees including myself; since my father is not going to widen his business the order can be sent and received with facsimile or phone or mail, or if unambiguous he visits the orderer to clarify it

I thought for the most part people had stopped using fax machines

Not the medical industry (at least in the United States). Due to HIPAA and slow adoption of online patient record sharing, fax is still the most used way of sending patient medical records. Also, looks to be used in some legal settings, as well (definitely not as much as the medical industry, though).

Makes sense, old tech takes time to be fully cycled out of use. I recall reading a few weeks ago that Japan finally stopped using floppy disks for government related services.

No. Everything is by EMAIL or secured link to a database.

I hear fax is still quite common in Japan but overseas it's still has its uses in places. I worked in a medical place for a bit and I actually had to do maintenance the fax machines used to send documents. In legal spaces I believe it's still used.

Now that I think about it, I have never used a facsimile machine and I haven't even used a printer in a few years.
