Well, the time is finally upon us.

If, for some reason, you're unaware of the current reality: Adobe will be discontinuing support for Flash Player starting on January 1, 2021. As a result of this, all major browsers that still support it will be blocking Flash content from playing, on or shortly after that date. (Each one has made its own press releases: Chromium, Firefox, Edge)

Important dates:

• December 31, 2020: Last day of official support for Adobe Flash Player (EOL).
  
• January 1, 2021: Flash content is disabled in all major browsers.
  
• January 12, 2021: Flash content is blocked from playing on newer versions of the plugin.*
  * = It's unclear what exactly will happen on this date. The details from Adobe are... ambiguous at best, so we will announce if any of our plans need to be modified.
  

This, however, does not mean that JV will be going away. We've been making some behind-the-scenes preparations to make sure that all Flash content from JV/PR2 remains playable past the EOL. Here are some of the plans:

• All games will be made available via download for play on local machines. You can download PR2 now. The logistics of how we're offering the other games are still being worked out, so we'll let you know when that happens.
  
• All games on JV and PR2Hub will feature instructions on how to play post-EOL. I hope to get this done within the next few days.
  
• The Vault of Magics will be converted to PayPal. Since the ability to purchase things with Kreds goes away with the EOL, the Vault needs a new method of payment. After discussing with Jiggmin, we've decided to move to PayPal payments. This will be available starting on January 1, 2021.
  

If you prefer to play on JV or PR2Hub, there are still options to do so:

• SuperNova Flash Player: This will allow you to launch Flash movies in the SuperNova player straight from your browser. It's probably the best option for the least amount of interruption of your normal browsing habits; however, it's currently only available on Windows.
  
• Newgrounds Flash Player: Newgrounds is offering their own player that will allow you to view content on Newgrounds like normal. Jiggmin's Newgrounds Profile has a bunch of his older games, including PR2; however, these are the non-revival versions. Like the SuperNova player, the Newgrounds player is currently only available for Windows.
  

Otherwise, you can download the Adobe Flash Player Projector (Windows / Mac / Linux). This is the method by which we plan to allow the games to be played locally. Eventually, we hope browser support will return with the further development of the Ruffle Flash Emulator, which aims to run Flash movies natively in the browser using WebAssembly.

UPDATES:

Due to incompatibility with the Kongregate API after the EOL date, please be advised that Kreds will be made obsolete on January 1, 2021. This applies to all Kred-related purchases on Kongregate, not just PR2. It is strongly recommended that you spend your remaining Kreds before that date so that you won't lose any money.
