ABORTION! 👼🏻
#1
Incase you haven't been paying attention... in June of this year, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, giving states the freedom to decide whether they want to ban abortion or not. While some states in the U.S agree with abortion, some others do not. Do you agree with the Supreme Courts' decision to give states the right to make abortion illegal or not, or should they force people to ban abortion, no matter what?

I understand this can be a sensitive subject to discuss, so if you feel uncomfortable answering this question, then I understand. I'll do my best to remain completely unbiased. If you do feel comfortable answering this question, then please share your thoughts below.

As a woman I'm damn lucky to not be in the United States right now. Although I've never had an abortion myself, I was at a high risk pregnancy with my youngest who they thought would have no quality of life, they caught hypoplasic left heart syndrome at the 18 week scan and I was pushed to abort. I waited till my 20 week scan to confirm by 2 specialists that she in fact did NOT have any heart condition and that it was just fluid around her lung which would "hopefully go away before birth."
If I had aborted at 18 weeks I'd of made a terrible decision, but if she had the condition and gave birth there was a 99.9% chance of her not surviving more than 24hrs and living her few hours in pain. So either way abortion has its pros and cons when medical professionals are wrong.

In the context of conceiving through rape, having severe mental health, domestic violence, or just not being financially capable of having a child I do not judge if a woman chooses to abort. Because its so easy for everyone to cry "murder" when in real life carrying a child can be so mentally damaging, don't forget the physical affect is has on a body too. If a woman is simply not capable of carrying then she's well within her rights to abort, though I would prefer if the father was given more support if he doesn't agree to terminate. It breaks men too, that's where couples need to discuss children before they do any hokey pokey. Takes two to tango and two to make a baby, abortion destroys families and also fixes families.
In the long run we need to just not bother about what someone decides to do with their body and move on with the times rather than go backwards. I think the world has just lost its empathy and any form of common sense. Covid sure did cause a lot of brain damage I see.

Vegans say that eating meat is murder, but you don't see states banning meat-eating and the use of animal products. If that were to happen, there would be outrage.

Why isn't this the case with abortion? Why do people think it's okay to deprive everyone else of a service because they don't believe it's right?

I've never known anyone who has gotten an abortion before, but I think it's safe to assume that no one really wants an abortion. They need it. And I say that because abortions cost hundreds of dollars at least, probably aren't very fun, and you have to take time out of your life to get it done.

So I think abortions should be allowed for the sake of those who need it.
If you agree with it, then do it if you need it.
If you don't agree with it, then don't do it. Simple.

And if you want other people to not get an abortion because you think it's wrong, then do something to help them like offering to adopt their unwanted child. If you're not willing to help (which is probably most people who are against abortion), then don't tell them what to do.

Why are you dragging vegans into this with a generalization? Most vegans don't care whether or not you eat meat, it's a personal choice for most of us. It's the vocal minority that goes around shouting "Meat is murder!" Most vegans don't even like people that do that. It gives the rest of vegans a bad name and causes us to be maligned. Most vegans are chill people just living their lives.

Sorry about that. I was just trying to point out how people let others do what they want when it comes to veganism, but so many people don't let others do what they want when it comes to abortion.

I think you’re comparing apples to oranges here. Killing a human being isn’t the same as killing an animal. Also, there are a lot of organizations that do offer help to mothers in need.

You know there's a time and place to be making jokes or trying to be funny, but I'm pretty sure this thread is for serious opinions and discussions.
Also, it's body, not bidy.
