I was nervous about this too! Fortunately was able to negotiate the rent staying the same AND a longer-term lease (just to lock in the rental rate for longer). I felt very lucky.

If you can get around on a bike, that sounds like the smart move long term. I’ve heard that home ownership is also a money/time sink though

O. Not sure where you live, but that doesn’t sound fun. It rarely goes below freezing here, but I still can’t imagine biking in the cold

People ask me about that all the time. I just have a ton of clothes, gear, and equipment for winter biking. Lemme know if you need recs!

Like I understand expenses come with a house, but my mortgage can't ever get jacked up. Worst case, they raise the value of my house and my property taxes go up. But even then, at least it's my place

That sounds nice, but i imagine your summers are brutal? I absolutely melt in the heat.
