Welcome to...
Don't Move of the Month!
How it works:
- This contest process is quite similar to Painter of the Month's, meaning this contest starts the 1st of every month.
- Each contestant can create their own Don't Move level that's following the theme of the level as selected by me.
- Each Don't Move will be evaluated by the following criteria: length, complexity, and uniqueness. 10 points for each one.
- If your submission was "thanked" that means your Don't Move has been selected to enter the contest.
- Submissions will be taken until the 21st of a month. From the 22nd to the 29th, judges will pick a winner. The winner will be announced on the last day of the month or when the judges are all finished voting.
Rules:
- You can submit only one Don't Move level each month.
- Each level must be uploaded publicly, so the judges or I can view the level and evaluate the level. You may also record the level and post the submission, but the level still has to be published nevertheless.
- Make sure all of the submissions are complying with the PR2 and the JV rules. Any sort of NSFW, gore, racism, swearing, porn or shock images in the Don't Move will be reported to a staff member.
- Autodot (or similar programs) may not to be used for any submissions. This would be considered cheating.
- Do not PM me your submissions on PR2, Discord, or anywhere else. All posts must be on this thread to be accepted.
- Using alternative accounts for making multiple submissions will result in your original submission being disqualified for the month.
- Finding any loopholes in the contest, PR2 or JV2 rules will lead to a disqualification from the contest for the month or a punishment in game, or on the forums.
- Level copying will not be tolerated. Any violations will result in instant disqualification from the contest for the round or indefinitely.
Prize:
100,000 EXP!
The theme of July 2020: Absolute Chaos Gameplay!!!
Judges:
IHaveDaCowboyz (Host) | Discord: iiLogan#2020
Stxtics | Discord: Stxtics#0001
Ashley766 | Discord: Ashley766#6618
Addy888* | Discord: Addy#9650
Camer999 | Discord: Camer the Dragon#5371
Anyone who submits a level that doesn't follow the rules above may have their submission deleted and may be disqualified from the contest for that month or indefinitely.

Ehh i can see copying levels being really easy to get away with unless at least one of the judges are extremely familiar with both classic and obscure dont move levels
And I dont mean to ***** but the judges also need some sort of experience making actually good dont moves (and I dont think I've seen dont moves that stuck out to me from any of the current judges) otherwise this is just another contest that is judged by people who are underqualified, making it an "oh this looks the coolest, so you win" kind of contest.
Also I think judging on the length of the level is pretty pointless
I'll submit one of my levels anyway tho

I think this round will be a learning experience. We also ask the community for help to report any level copying. Luckily, with the newly added last updated date on Pr2's levels, it'll be easier to determine if a level was copied or not. We'll try our absolute hardest to prevent any cheating, and we'll have a zero-tolerance policy. Don't be the one we make an example of..

As someone who's been experienced in making dont moves, I dont think theres any actual learning that happens just watching the level. Most of it comes from experimenting honestly. That way they can figure out what glitches/maneuvers are hardest to pull off and which ones are plain, basic, and simple. There is more to dont move levels than just randomly hitting mines and going through walls, and it's hard to realize that until you've experimented in LE enough

This round will be a learning experience in terms of running this contest. Judging, tweaking rules, etc.

My point stands. It's one thing to spectate how fast someone runs a level, its another to know how to properly judge levels that require extreme attention to detail.
I'll shut up now tho and see how it goes. This contest has my support

Elite Dont Move by Good Job Man
It relates to the theme cuz it has pictures of the rage comic memes that came to light around the beginning of the 2010 decade. Also video game characters such as Toro from playstation and Ditto from pokemon.
Most complex part of the level:
1) bomb into downwards diagonal blocks (sure ok)
2) bomb into upwards diagonal blocks (difficult) through the same blocks as 1 (insanely difficult)
3) smoothly transitions after the crazy maneuver without losing any momentum (kinda difficult)

Don't Moves you say?
Don't Move by Overbeing
My don't move fits the theme of New Years Celebration, because celebrating the new year lets us reflect on the past. Us don't move makers combined have countless broken don't moves. I made my entry because at the time, none of my old ones worked. I wanted something to stand as a monument to all that was lost.
Also, bombs=fireworks. That is just math.
A few thoughts on the judging criteria.
Length: I think the length here is perfect. Don't moves that are too long lose the attention of the viewer. I think it important to know when to close out the level and say that it is done.
Complexity: The complexity of my level is exactly what I was going for. I try to make Don't Moves that blow your socks off, but focus on aesthetic and tempo over outright complexity. I want the viewer to be able to follow what is going on and be able to appreciate it. Too much complexity is hard to follow.
Uniqueness: My levels have long set the standard for what a Don't Move looks like. If for any reason it seems generic, that is because other people followed me, not the other way around. It is also a tribute to my old levels, so it is meant to feel nostalgic.

I'd like to submit Don't Move Finale by 1amayzingman (that's me)
It used to have a slightly different path when you had santa hat on, but that path got messed up with one of the updates to the physics a while back.
