Not that funny, and not even in full hd

That's like the 1% out of 99% of the videos that used to be between 144p-480p, that was uploaded back then. Good find, bro. Most people didn't start uploading 1080p videos until the early 2010s. During the late 2000s like 07 and up, they just started to upload 480p/720p videos. But damn, if someone monetized a 1080p clip from 2005, that's really popular... you could make a shit load of bread.

I think what happened was it was originally 720p, but got upscaled to 1080p by YouTube itself. If that is the case, then the first actual YouTube video in FHD wasn't until much later; not until The Muppets - Bohemian Rhapsody. That would also explain why gg has a staggeringly low view count. There's also an article from November 12, 2009 (11 days before that Muppets video) saying that FHD uploading was just added to YouTube, sooo yeah. Kind of proves it.

I'm pretty sure the person who uploaded that video did in fact upload it in 1080p, but since it wasn't supported yet on YouTube, it only showed up on YouTube as 720p. Then once it was added in November 12, 2009, the video got upscaled. If THAT is the case, then yes. Technically gg is the first YouTube video uploaded in FHD. Which yes, for 2005 YouTube, is very impressive.

Someone in the comments section, mentioned something about Youtube upgrading the video quality, once it introduced FHD streaming options on their platform. With that being said, it does make sense that the original uploader had 1080p options that weren't readily available at the time. Also, you gotta understand that the video the person uploaded in 2005, was during a time where Youtube wasn't very popular. People were just starting to get used to Facebook, they'd been on Myspace, and they were used to Netflix. Plus the guy's subscriber count is really low, too, and people couldn't find that video at the time. But yeah, 1080p in 2005 is impressive.

I'd love to remake the video in FHD, but I have no idea if that's even allowed.

And I meant the video itself. Pretty sure I can rip the song in FHD, but I'd have to re-edit the whole video as well.

Alternatively, I could get the original video in muted 480p and overlay the 1080p song over it. It would trick YouTube into labeling it 1080p.

I could just make a whole new video and call it a fan made edit, I think that would fall under fair use.

But yet again, it's not going to be as good as the original. I am terrible at video editing.
