There's software that you can use, to convert it to a higher quality.

I could just capture the screen at 1080p, but it would be pointless upscaling.

It wouldn't even make the audio sound any better. 720p uses the same mHz as 1080p.

Download Audacity and mix the audio there, if you have problems with the audio. Just make sure you mix it in stereo. You don't want to pan the audio too far to the left or right. Then convert the video clip into 1080p, using a converter. Then download Davinci and put the audio clip and the video clip together.
