Nope. I’m an independent person who doesn’t like to rely on anyone to do something for me.

Listen, one of the worst things that you can do in life is to constantly be dependent on someone to do something for you. All it does is show others that you’re a vexatious individual who’s far too incompetent to do anything for themselves. At a job, the employer would label you as a liability. Now before you reach your hand out to someone, just ask yourself whether a job can be done by yourself. These are 10, basic things that you should learn how to do on your own as an adult:
  • Having your own ride
  • Having your own place
  • Fixing your own car
  • Fixing things in your house
  • Taking care of your own lawn
  • Cooking for yourself
  • Paying bills with your own money
  • Having your own car insurance
  • Having your own health insurance
  • Having your own dental insurance

If you can’t do any of these things, then obviously there’s a problem. Everyone’s situation is different. But I’ll be damned if I’m lacking the first one where I don’t have my own ride. It’s just incredibly frustrating having to hit up a homie or a relative, every time you need to get some errands done. At some point, they’ll think that you’re using them, and then they’ll tell you to get your shit together. It’s a realty check and a massive punch to the gut, but it’s the cold-hearted truth. People have their own problems in life, and the last thing that you want to do is be that guy or girl who’s constantly needing someone for something.

Being independent sounds so much sweeter than dealing with bullshit from other people. Some people are disabled with special needs, therefore I can sympathize for that part. But a grown ass man or woman who’s healthy with a roof over their head and no issues, you gotta drill some effin discipline into your skull and learn to be more independent. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help, but when it becomes a pattern where it happens more frequently (even though you already know better), then we got a problem. Unless you’re paying someone, most people won’t do any charity work for you all the time.
