Decantation - Noun
The process of decanting. Decanting is separating liquid from solids by pouring the top liquid out. Alternatively, decanting can also be pouring the topmost liquid out in order to separate one liquid from one or more unmixed liquids. This is commonly used with wine, where the wine is poured to carefully leave behind as much sediment as possible. This is also a basic and ancient chemistry procedure.
