Call emergency services to rescue the friend and forget about the phone. A) You can't swim, B) Sending a random person out is stupid, C) They are professionals and this is their jobs. "So no one is willing to go through that dreadful experience again!" I am sure firefighters do not want to go through a rescue from a five-alarm fire, but they still do because that is what they are trained and paid to do.
