I train Mixed Martial Arts (5 years up to now) and have heard countless stories about street fights (Never been involved in one myself thankfully) and everyone who has trained MMA has always resorted to using their wrestling/BJJ ability to nullify the other person. They said that it was the best way to go when it was 1v1 however, you have to be more careful when it is yourself vs multiple people.
There was recently a story from Brazil where a grappling legend called Leandro Lo was at a club with some friends, and an off-duty policeman stole a drink from his table and they begun fighting until Leandro took him down and then let the policeman go, and then the policeman shot and killed him. Always got to be careful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leandro_Lo#Death
