The game used Tank Controls and, if I recall correctly, an unmovable camera.

The level design was incredibly basic, the enemies were as well. They didn't really know what they were doing.

In some sense nobody did. It was the beginning of the 3D era. But development lasted so long that when 3D platformers were made good, Bubsy 3D stayed bad.

The developers wanted to make a sequel to this called Bubsy 4D. 4D because it would be another 3D, but include a story around time travel.

But now in May 2026, Bubsy 4D is real... Mostly because it's not the same game. It's a new game with the same name.
