That to me shows a lack of care. If the writers don't even care enough to write the full scene then that's a problem.

Don't write a one liner, have a character stop half-way through the line and be like, "-Eh, this is dumb to say, I'm not going to finish it."

In real life that would make sense. But this isn't real life. It is meant to be larger than life and cartoony.
