@MrGlad

I’ve been a huge Survivor fan since the actual show’s season 10 (2005). Big fan. I love creating games involving lots of people irl. On the forums back in 2013 (right before my senior year in HS), I felt compelled to see what a forum Survivor would be like. It had a great response. Lots of peeps joined (like you!), and the rest is history.

I am such a Survivor fan, that I also literally host Survivor games irl for my friends and family. Actually, this weekend is my family’s yearly big camping reunion, and I will be hosting it then! Always so much fun to create games for everyone to play and take people out of there comfort zone.

Why did I revive it on JV2? Good question. I just had a baby this year. Work full time. Plenty of reasons to not revive it.

To put it simply… I turned 30 last November, and got hit with a level of nostalgia I hadn’t been hit with in a while. Looking back, thinking back on the old times. Going thru way back machine and looking at the forums from back then. I literally joined this community back in 2008. 18 years ago. I was 13. I just wanted to revive some of that old magic. I wasn’t sure how successful it would be to bring back an old forum game from 13 years ago. And yet, you were all amazing. The amount of people who came back just for my game, simply made 13 year old Tyler so happy. Just being able to hear from you guys has made this so worth it.

so yeah, with all that has gone on in my life in terms of business, I felt this drive to come back and finish another season of Survivor, especially since I didn’t get to finish Season 8 back in 2015 of my game.

Hope that answers your question!

Its not the same as MCP although MCP can be used to help with it. Generally its this workflow:

1. Let the AI know your requirements for a project or task
2. The AI generates documents consisting of its idea of the requirements, design, every change that its going to make, nuances, etc
3. You review these documents and you can either manually correct anything thats wrong, or tell it to correct it
4. Once its all ready, tell the AI to execute on it

Basically, you're creating guardrails for AI-generated stuff so that it doesn't go off the rails as much if you want it to do something big. For software development, openspec is used. Although I've only ever used it once to make some modifications to a SQL file that was far too complicated for me at the time

I joined PR2 when I was 11 years old, and I've been in this community for 17 years. In that time, I graduated high school, got a job I didn't like, quit that job, fell in love, broke up, fell in love again, got a job I'm happy with, moved into a hotel, adopted a puppy, saved up, bought a bike, moved into an apartment, and adopted a cat.

Now within the next year or so, we should have enough saved to move into a house!

Who knows where I'd be, had I not decided to play PR2 that one day. For better or for worse (I think for better c: ), I have this community to thank!

Reposting this now that there's more people here

Woah, yes, 100%! And thanks for the background and thoughts.
You seemed to have taken turning 30 much more positively than I did hahaha (more on that later).
I think the revival has made a lot of people happy, nostalgic, and remembering what it was like being a kid again.

She became cold and distant to people she once called friends. Eventually, one fateful day, one of her friends would get attacked by her. She received several bruises, and would eventually call the authorities. Mia would have to dotime for her actions. Now that she had to spend the next month in jail, Mia began to get desparate.

That would be until she met Camer the Dragon, who promised to bust her out of jail under one condition. Acquire 200 liters of cola, and bring it to his lair. "That's no trouble at all," Mia thought. She knew of a village where you could exchange goods. That is when Camer roared "If you don't acquire the cola I desire within 3 days, I'll burn you to a crisp!" Mia trembled a bit, but pressed on. She started walking down a trail towards Jiggmin's Village, in search of the cola she required.

Along the way, she found some abandoned goods at a nearby tree. "This is perfect," Mia exclaimed. "Surely something of this will be tradeable for the cola." That's when she noticed something with a strange shiny aura. It appeared to be some sort of a Silky Silver, made for crafting exquisite swords to defend Jiggmin's Village. It was highly valued. That is when a dangerous looking orc named Addy showed up out of nowhere. "Hey, that stuff belongs to me! Hand it over or I'll bash you with my club!"

Luckily for Mia, she knew that the sun was rising very soon. This particular race of orcs was afraid of Sunlight, so she tried to stall the orc. "Hey orc, you're right! How can we settle this, human to orc? Perhaps we play a quick game of parcheesi to pass the time!" The orc laughed at her. "You doofus, I don't have time for your foolish human games! I have to get back to my home to protect mys- uh, I mean... cook dinner for my family! Yeah, that's it!" That's when the sun started rising above the horizon.

"Nice try, but I know this Sunlight is absolutely unbearable to you!" Mia said smugly. The orc wailed "Gahhh, forget it! Just keep the stuff! I gotta get out of here!!!" and scurried back home. Mia gleefully continued down the trail, until she finally reached Jiggmin's Village. She managed to find a shopkeeper that traded consumables. "Hello, traveler, my name is Ashley! Take a look at my goods, and see if there's anything you like!" Mia scanned her eyes across the entire stock, until she spotted it in the corner.

There were bottles upon bottled stacked up on wooden pallets. There had to be at least 400 liters of cola there! Mia breathed a sigh of relief, and said "How about we work out a trade? I have a large quantity of Silky Silver in my possession, and would be willing to trade it for half of your stock of cola." Ashley thought it over, and considering the extraordinarily high value of Silky Silver, agreed. That's when Mia's heart sank. How would she get all of this cola back to the dragon's lair in time? She's not able to lift all of this cola there by herself!

That is when a Bluecat entered the shop and began pawing at a ball of yarn Mia had collected from the tree. "Meow meow meow meow!" said the Bluecat, but luckily Mia knew how to speak cat. He wanted the ball of yarn so badly, he was willing to give up his bed for it! "Meow meow meow meow!" said the cat. This time, the cat said he's been sleeping in a wagon with a blanket, but would gladly find somewhere else to sleep if it had the yarn to play with! Mia's eyes lit up, and agreed to the trade. Now she had a way of getting the cola back to Camer the Dragon!

Mia thanked Ashley the shopkeeper and the Bluecat, and hurried back to the dragon's lair. With just enough time to spare to eat a dozen donuts from a travelling cart, she made it there. Mia was exhausted, but there was the lair! "Hey, you humans are pretty cool! And here I was, practicing my biggest fire breaths to burn you with." said Camer. He threw 198 liters of the cola back into his pile of treasure, and cracked open one of the 2 liters. Mia had escaped with her freedom, and avoided the wrath of the dragon!

The end

I generally took it positively. Turning 30 caused me for the first time to really look back and absorb everything up to this point in my life, and to think about all the things I used to be involved with (such as JV).

But yes, even playing just a small part in bringing back some joy, and old faces, has made it all worth it. I wouldn’t trade this experience for nothing. Truly amazing hearing from all of you!

Love this!

I joined PR2 on the very last day of 6th grade. So I think I also would've been around 11, maybe 12.

I played a lot that summer, but not much the rest of middle school.

I remember either in 8th grade or 9th grade setting up F@H and getting the crown hat. The cowboy hat would've been nigh impossible for my little laptop.

I remember joining for the forums just for...a hat? No, that doesn't sound right. I can't remember what led me to the forums. Aw.

I would've stumbled across JV Survivor early in my time on the forums.

Apart from that, I also remember trying so hard to win Level Of The Week, which I finally pulled off right before senior year of high school. I was so excited and wore my bubbles with pride.

Then I went off to college and dropped PR2 and JV completely...until 12 years later! (plus some quick drop ins throughout the years, like in 2020, 2021, etc)
