I like the feature of alerts, tells me what posts are getting thanked or responded to

Don't give a hoot about the arbitrary number next to it

In fact, deleting the alerts makes it easier to tell when you get new ones. Cause when you delete them, it's set back to 0. I'd rather the number be a single digit than an "impressively high" number.
