What would you like to see be added/altered for Level of the Week? Would you like to see any events? I'm curious

Do you have any data on how many people participate?
I could see the last login for the creator of the entered level being extended. finding levels by people who have been online in the last year isn't the easiest. maybe more rewards for submitting other people's levels would get people submitting more too.

Best artless level category? Difficult/hard levels category for hardcore levels (such as a examples:zone by what(o_O) and time of death by makie98) - would have to have some guidelines/rules for hard levels as they would be expected to be the final leave in a campaign and beatable at best

Hmm, not directly related to Level of the Week. But how about enabling a certain IP address to only vote on a level once a week instead of basing it on user accounts. Hypothetically I could make 10 accounts and spam my level with 5 stars and get LOTW. Also, disabling level voting for users who forfeit a match might be worth contemplating, especially in regards to frusts or traps. Just because someone isn't good enough to finish a level doesn't mean it's a 1 star level. I'm guilty of this myself.
EDIT: Sorry my bad. I meant to say "Week's Best". It would be nice if the Week's Best tab reflected LOTW winners. EDIT: Enable 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place tiers and prizes.

I would have to gather all that up at some point. Hmmmm. The idea behind LOTW is to try and give our current player base a chance at showcasing their levels, but I see your point. How about extending it to 2 years inactive rather than 1? As in having separate winners each week? Organizing past winners into categories of their own so that people can see what each level is about? I'm a bit confused on the premise of the suggestion. As it stands it is a bit vague. Additionally it may open the door to level types that aren't currently allowed (traps, frusts, etc). If you were a player who wanted to casually play a level, how long would you stick through a level before leaving? I'd love to see some responses to that question to gather data. @Addy (Yesterday, 4:30 AM)Vibj Wrote: Hmm, not directly related to Level of the Week. With Level of the Week, we have it set up to where all levels are submitted, and then judged by a hand picked group of judges. The idea you have doesn't really apply to how the contest works at all. If we were talking about the idea for the game generally, I like it. It's a bit unfortunate having your level rated poorly because someone either doesn't like you, your level, or is trolling. Having ratings be based on IP rather than account may help that. Same goes for the "forfeiting a match then rating" idea. @Vibj

I was drunk when I made this response lol. Make a difficult level like how Mario maker is, must finish the level in order to submit and must have challenging areas as if it was the last level in a campaign.
If that makes any sense from my vision |
