PR2 Group Types

Have you ever seen different words after "Group" on a player pop-up?  This guide will help explain what that means.

Guests

Guests hold the least power of any group on PR2.

Their player pop-up looks like this:



The only thing a guest can do is race.  Anyone can be a guest by clicking "Play as Guest" on the PR2 home screen.

Members

Members are the most common type of users on PR2.

Their player pop-up looks like this:



Members can:
- Race
- Publish levels
- Chat
- PM
- Add/remove people to/from friends/ignored lists
- Join Guilds

Temporary Moderators

Temporary Moderators (or simply "temp mods") are members that are temporarily given mod abilities.

Their mod options window looks like this:



Temp Mods can do everything Members can, plus:
- Give warnings
- Kick for 30 minutes
- Access the chatroom "mod"

An admin may promote a member to a Temp Mod when:
- An admin is looking for a new mod
- There are no staff in the chat and it needs moderation
- When an admin deems it appropriate

When you purchase a private server, you also get temp mod powers on your server.

Trial Moderators

Trial Moderators (or simply "Trial Mods") are moderators with limited abilities.

Their mod options window looks like this:



Trial Mods can do everything Members can, plus:
- Give warnings
- Ban for up to a day
- Access the chatroom "mod"
- Enter full servers
- Play any level, regardless of rank requirement or password protection
- Delete guilds
- See IP addresses and prior bans on an account/IP
- View reported messages
- View accounts associated with an IP address

An admin may promote a member to a Trial Mod when that member has been a Temp Mod before and satisfactorily moderated the chat.

Permanent Moderators

Permanent Moderators (or simply "Perma Mods") are the highest level of moderators.

Their mod options window looks like this:



Perma Mods can do everything Trial Mods can, plus:
- Ban for up to a year
- Unpublish levels
- Place the artifact
- Award prizes for any contest

An admin may promote a Trial Mod to a Perma Mod when the Trial Mod has proven themselves to be a skilled moderator and community leader.

Admins

Admins are the most powerful type of users on PR2.

Their mod/admin options windows look like this:



Admins can do everything Perma Mods can, plus:
- Make Temp, Trial, and Perma Mods, as well as de-mod anyone (excluding other admins)
- Access the chatroom "admin"
- Activate/deactivate happy hours
- Give/remove parts/epic upgrades to/from accounts
- Update any account's information (username, email, guild)
- Update any guild's information (title, prose, owner)
- Restart servers
- Set the custom Campaign
- Add/remove/edit contests and contest prizes
- View accounts associated with an email address
- View login records (time + IP)

The current Admin team collectively decides to promote new Admins.

Yes, Jiggmin is the one and only who has the power to make Admins. If I'm not mistaken he doesn't even have an option to do it on the Pr2 client. He does it from his database stuff so that's why he's able to promote admins and never come online
