I never really owned a console, so my main gaming needs came from PC. Thinking about it, I probably would had never found PR2 if I had an Xbox or Playstation growing up. Wasn't until recently that someone let me borrow their Xbox 360 so I've been able to play some titles on it, but controllers still take a bit getting used to since my preference leans towards keyboard/mouse.
However, I think the neat advantage of consoles over PC is that there's some longevity to the amount of games you'll be able to play since those games have to be optimized, which sure, results in lower graphics, but to the average consumer, they're not going to notice; what they care about mainly is being able to play the latest titles without buying a new console every couple of years or so.
On the other hand, maybe it's cheaper to build a gaming rig in the long run. Not to mention, a good overall PC is going to be able to do more, things beyond gaming, so really, I think PC wins in most areas. I know these debates are because of gaming, but these days, your console can do just a little bit more than just gaming, they play and stream video and other services. But still vastly inferior to having the full desktop experience from a PC.
