Graphics Cards for better folding results!
#1
What's sup, everybody. So apparently I'm noticing a lot of people surpass 💯💰 in F@H points, and I was actually thinking about tagging along to show support. But here's the problem... I don't know exactly what graphics card I need to be able to fold crazy amounts of points everyday because the last thing I want is to be folding anything less than at least 500k.

So if any of the best and fastest folders on here, wants to give me a little run around as to what graphics cards I need to be able to fold a gargantuan amount of points, and what prices I'm going to be running into, give me a shoutout. Just give me a range from cheapest to most expensive, and more like what the folding points per WU would result in, if I were to get a certain graphics card.

Oh and let me know what computer you're running as well, so I'll know what to get and what not to get!

It looks like Geforce NVIDIA 3090 is the best so far. But I bet it's expensive.

Halve those numbers and it'd be somewhat accurate, even cheaper for used.

If you want the amazon and newegg links I used to check all the prices I'd be more than happy to link you, and I wouldn't recommend buying used computer parts at all, could just be my luck personally but I've had to replace many a used part in my day.

RTX 2000 cards are horrible value with RTX 3000 out (I don't think RTX 2000 is even in production anymore, anything left is old stock from what I understand) but RTX 3000 is always sold out instantly as well as AMD's competing cards (6800/XT/6900XT) but if you can find one in stock I'd also recommend the 3080 at $700, 3090 is over double the price but nowhere close to double the performance.

Sounds good man, I appreciate the tip. I may end up shopping around on amazon to see if they have any prime deals for a reasonable price.

Yeah that sounds like a fantastic deal right there. I may run it by you (if I find one), just to make sure I'm on the right track.

I'll remember that. I'll look on amazon to see if I can find a RTX 3080 at $700 or something. Hopefully it's compatible with Mac as well.

@AlphaZ So far this is what I've found: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-gefo...Id=6429440

But it's sold out. I saw others, but for like $1500-1600.

That sounds like 5th rank token in 5 days, 6th in about 2weeks, 7th in 25 days, and 8th in 50days. Are you able to get the ultimate gaming experience in 4k or something?

Oh yeah, I get great FPS on any game I've tried, with max settings. Very pleased with it.

These are all heavily inflated prices and terrible value with the 3000 series out as David said.

Shop around elsewhere and you'll find them much cheaper.
