It really sucks when you see your dream car online or in person and you can’t even afford to buy it. You’re stressed tf out because you’re currently dealing with that shitty ass piece of used junk with a million miles on it. Always visiting the dealership trying to stay ahead of repairs, living paycheck to paycheck hoping you can save enough for the repairs, and dealing with serious issues like a blown transmission. Who the hell smiles at that… seriously?!

It’s a massive punch to the gut knowing that you could be YEARS away from buying your dream car. It just feels impossible right now - with all the bills, emergencies, necessities, low incomes, car prices, and personal desires. Damn, this makes it extremely difficult to buy a brand new Ferrari. Sure you can always change your situation, but it’s going to take a lot out of you.

Now hypothetically speaking, what if we could immediately dismiss all that bullshit and put $1,000,000 into your bank account right now?! Now you’re overwhelmed with extreme blissfulness, your jaw just hit the floor, your eyes just stretched open the size of Texas, and no more driving a pathetic-looking vehicle! All that stress just left your soul knowing how much money you have, right now.

With that kind of money, it’s almost limitless as to how much money you can pay for a certain type of car. Now obviously there are certain cars out there (like the Bugatti Chiron) that are worth at least $3 - $5 million. No, you can’t afford that but your budget does say that you can now afford to buy an exotic/luxury car in the six figure range, if you’d like. So, I’m curious what kind of car would you buy if you had $1,000,000 in your bank account, right now? Here’s a few choices below, to help you decide within your budget.

Simplicity will definitely guarantee you survival and financial stability in todays’ economy. Foreign cars like a Honda Accord are a decent choice, but with that kind of money you could just move to a nicer neighborhood and then buy a nicer car.

When I was a kid I thought the car that Homer designed was pretty cool. Actually I still think it's pretty cool. I've also always liked a lot of vintage cars from an aesthetic point of view, I think modern cars are pretty ugly by comparison. That said, I'd never want to actually own a vintage car. Yeah, not everyone is into vintage cars, so I can understand that. On the flip side, it is a nice relic, even though I wouldn’t want to drive one of those. The biggest problem with modern cars is the fact that they’ve always been made out of plastic material. Back in the day, you’ve always had metal cars which reduced the number of accidents. None, I don't have a licence and I don't plan to get one (walking or taking the bus/train works fine enough here)
I can't be bothered to get one, focus on the road, and I can't be bothered to pay for petrol, MOT, car insurance, etc. (plus I think I would legit get road rage lol)

Over here in America, we get tons of car accidents over here. In England, I’m not sure exactly how it goes for you guys over there, lol. But yeah, I can understand your POV because people are reckless drivers.

To me at least, SUVs are some of the ugliest cars around. I just like that they're practical. Maybe some kind of hybrid compact / midsize SUV would be good. That said, while SUVs are more spacious and can carry more stuff, their size means they tend to be less fuel efficient and produce more emissions than smaller cars (and right now electric is far from perfect unfortunately). The other issue of course is that bigger cars = more energy in collisions. So I dunno.

In any case, for the time being I'm very happy without a car anyway. I'd only really consider getting one if I absolutely needed one.

Well it’s because the cars that were made out of metal were really tough, people were safer drivers back in the day, and they could receive collision punishment a lot greater than these plastic, modern cars today can. Now there are a few sources that’ll end up telling you that modern cars are safer because of airbags, seatbelt technology, and aluminum material for weight distribution.

To a certain extent, I can buy into that concept, but then it ends up being a logical fallacy because I’ve noticed that a lot of these modern cars end up getting destroyed and folded flat like a pancake during an accident. I was a victim of this when I collided with another vehicle a few years ago in my 2007 dodge charger (which I no longer have anymore); it was plastic material. It really boils down to the material of the car. Steel will always be tougher and greater than plastic material.

I'd value my life above the "toughness" of a car any day. Better to walk away with a totaled car that did it's job protecting you than being dead in a undented car.

The main advantage of metal is that it can bend without snapping.
