What are your resolutions for 2025?
#1
A new year is already here for some and fast approaching for others. Do you have any New Years resolutions for the year of 2025? And what about your resolutions for 2024, did you accomplish them or make any progress?

Personally I finally want to get fully back into working out regularly, I did get back into running regularly about 4 months ago but stopped the past three weeks due to travel and getting sick for about a week but I will be running again starting tomorrow on the 1st. My goal for running is to get under 6 minutes a mile (for 2 miles, but may do that up to 4), I've already reached under 7:30 a mile. Past that I also want to get back into calisthenics and put on a decent amount of muscle overall, ideally I want to gain around 15 pounds with that being mostly muscle (I sit around 125-128lb's currently, 5'8"). 2 other goals I have are getting fully organized which I've been slowly working on already, and I want to learn how to dance as I think I'll really enjoy it

Context: I am 5'11" (180.3cm): Same every year, except going back in the opposite direction again, lol. I think last year might have been losing some extra weight (not sure we did one of these threads), and this year will be to gain weight. I was ~170 lb (77 kg) at the start, and cut to ~150 lb (68 kg). Good thing is I have been doing more running and organized sports (barring my knees cooperate), which helped with the cut and made my health "numbers" better. Bad thing is I am completely weak. The overall goal is to keep up with both the cardio and strength training at the same time, instead of yo-yoing between the two. For a an absolute number (really going to go by overall feel), split the difference and get to 160 lb (72.6 kg).

Besides that, get out to more social events/travelling and make new friends. My schedule freed up a lot midway through the year, so there really is no excuse this year.

EDIT: No 2024 post, but this is the one from 2023. Looks like I accomplished that, but took it a bit too far.

Now that I am out of school, my life is much more stable, so I can be more consistent. Other than that, finish some books, video games, movies, etc. that I have put on the backburner.

I tend to not make any New Years Resolutions anymore because I can never keep them, sadly. I always end up procrastinating which is something that I need to stop doing. If anything, I do need to eat healthier and put on some weight. For a man my height (6”2-6”3), I should at least be 215lbs.

What’s going on with your knees? I can pm you a link to a powder nutrition that’ll help with bones and joints, if you’d like? A doctor (who used to be a chiropractor) told me about this. Plus I can send you a word document to his protocol about this stuff. It’s really useful. I’m in the process of taking advantage of it, myself.

Goal for the year is to release a boardgame.
Maybe tie it in with a musical project somehow, who knows time will tell.

I had surgery on one, and the other has a chronic overuse issue (possible IT Band issue; never seen a doctor). Ironically, the IT Band one is what gives me the most issues these days. Thank you for the offer, but I have some rehab exercises I am running through already.

Sounds like IT Band Syndrome. Well, I wish you a speedy recovery and let me know if you ever change your mind. The door is always open if you do. I tore my meniscus and now it has swelling and fluid buildup in the knee. I went to an orthopedic doctor and they told me that there’s no need for surgery. They did recommend physical therapy, though. This was after they saw the x-rays.

Hey!

2024 was a great year for me! i definitely made a lot of progress on my music and I am extremely happy with that.

Me and my family are currently in the process of selling our house and moving into a completely new place so, I am quite excited to see what new adventures this new place will bring.

Here is a very small list of personal goals I will work really hard to make possible this year:

1. Make real progress on drawing. I have been on and off for a few years now and it's getting annoying xD it has always been my main passion and ever since 2017, I have been slowing down on it quite a lot... I'll change that this year SHI* >:C

2. Change my overall look completely. I have noticed I love goth things since forever but never really committed to wearing that type of clothing. I will have a makeover this year :]

3. Finish Many Many MANY of the tracks I have left unfinished since 2020. Looking back... Covid really did throw everything I had planned out of wack... I have 8 folders chucked full of unfinished tracks that got me real mad listening to all of them a few weeks ago xD
like dude, what am I doing? I have some great tunes that have all been sitting there for years, just waiting to be finished and here I am struggling to come up with something new 🤦‍♂️

4. Start being a content creator (and this time for real!) I started making videos about two years ago but pretty much dropped it about 8 months ago... my goal this year is to be way more consistent. Atleast 1 video biweekly. I already have made a few short videos to get my feet wet again 'cause i kind of... forgot how to video effectively already (not that i was very good at it to begin with... not yet at least!)

5. Exercise and work out! Based on what others and David have said on this thread, it make me feel happy that I am not the only one trying his darnest to eat healthier and workout xD its just a matter of doing it consistently... i kind of stopped working out awhile ago but now i will come back on the grind again! My mom, my brother and even a few co workers are like all in the grind right now and i am not :[ EVEN MY DOCTOR IS LIKE DUDE DAFUQ?? BUILD BYSEPS AND TRYCEPSzsz

i ran away that day... and got myself some tacos...

and then farted... and then realised i was dreaming the whole time... i woke up in new york and saw Ben and Jiggmin robbing a bank... i joined the heist.

What was i talking about??? oh yeah.

6. Finish my Bachelor's studies! its been a struggle... I'll just leave it at that. Stepped back twice... but this year I'll get it.

7. Get Vocal coaching/classes! i want to be a singer. i tried singing in a few of my tracks and they have come out WAY better than i ever though they will in all honestly. But i know i can improve far more and a few of my co workers even told me i got a pretty good voice! I'll give it a shot... why not?

And i am probably missing a few but these are the main ones I'll be focusing on for this year! And i wish everyone luck on their resolutions too.

Never Give Up!
