If you traveled back in time to fix something, then you already experienced the results of the time travel and nothing has changed.
This is the same reason why I believe that if time travel exists, we are already on the best path (despite how sad that sounds given some of the atrocities that happened).
It's also why I believe that time travel cannot technically mess up time because it already has and you are already seeing the consequences.
So, if I went back in time to stop myself from getting into a car accident, you're telling me that nothing has changed, even though that car accident impacted the other person? How is that possible? On the other hand, I'm sure a lot of us would like to go back in time and stop COVID-19 from happening, if we knew how.
