Unsafe block

An unsafe block that can not be moved or broken, does not act as a check point.

While I agree that this would be fantastic for frustration maps, it would completely go against the idea as this block would be exactly that; a safe block.
(Cannot be manipulated/broken & is a solid surface = safe)

Block suggestion, as described:

A block that doesn't update the player's checkpoint but cannot be destroyed, pushed, etc.

This'd be cool
Maybe like scaffolding or a metal beam

Here's some concept art for what the block could look like:

A single teleport block can work like this in a lot of cases

It'd be annoying to set up a lot of them though, and it'd pop you into place making momentum not work properly

Singular teleport blocks has this exact function, and it doesn't pop you into place or ruin momentum. If it doesn't have a destination to teleport you to, it simply acts as a basic block (except for a noticeable visual that happens when you land on it)

An alternative is a checkpoint block, which would override the safety of regular blocks with its superior safety (if you touch a checkpoint block, you respawn there regardless of what other blocks you touched, unless it was another checkpoint block)

This could come with a checkpoint remover block which resets it to normal safety behavior, since you might want regular safe behavior and checkpoint behavior in the same level.
