Hall of Fame Nominations

https://jiggmin2.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=4226 (Hall of Fame thread)

A few players and I were discussing the Hall of Fame, and we agreed that there are a number of notable community members deserving of the recognition. Maybe it's time to expand the honors! Specifically, we feel that contributions to map creation and accomplishments in skillful play are underrepresented.

Here are my top 4 nominations to be considered for the Hall of Fame!:

@Tejs Tejs - creating 3 highly successful unofficial contests-- Trap Trials, Adventure Trials, & White Palace (and an upcoming official contest, Tower of Time); expectational overall skill in PR2, especially in trapping; unparalleled accomplishments in trapping, showcased on his YT channel https://www.youtube.com/@TejsForfang ; a 2-time winner of the annual LT Trap Tournament; notable contributions to mapmaking with several dozen innovative trap maps and frusts

@AspectZero Aspect - creating and hosting Trial & Error V1.0; exceptional overall skill in PR2, especially in frusting; tremendous accomplishments in frusting; numerous years worth of contributions to frust making and design, creating many dozens of frusts which push the boundaries of what is thought possible in PR2; and deep knowledge of PR2's mechanics and systems, which he has continually shared to help other players improve.

@Free Free - unparalleled contributions to map-making, revolutionizing map design and producing hundreds of exceptionally high quality trap, frusts, & glitch maps-- to this day, Free's maps are likely the most widely played & enjoyed maps on PR2.
(currently inactive but bound to make a return like he always does).

@Tib Tibere - extraordinary contributions to map-making, with hundreds of trap, glitch, frust, speedrun, & concept maps produced over the past 15 years; exceptional overall skill, especially in trapping; unparalleled volume of accomplishments in trapping across well over a decade (there are few HOFs where you won't see the name "Tibere"); singularly knowledgeable of difficult techniques, obscure mechanics, and block/item interactions.
(currently not active in PR2 but active in PR3 and the PR3 community)

Thanks for these suggestions Mag, one of these was nominated already but it's good to see the communities input. I'll forward this to the ambassadors/staff.

I definitely agree that there should be more players added to the Hall of Fame. However, I do not think there is a lack of representation for skilled players in the HoF. Master Raiden, Bi3liu, EpicMidget, and you Mag are all exceptionally skilled at the game. Among the nominees, I personally think AspectZero and Tejs are more than qualified for HoF.

Staff has done a relatively good job at balancing HoF to where the nominations aren't one-sided in my opinion. I personally would like to see certain OG players be nominated for their everlasting presence in the games history, and for their unparalleled skill at the time they were playing. This, in my opinion, is highly underappreciated. What about the players that were better than everyone when the game had hundreds of players?

The likes of:

Fran10
Suuper
898ppp
quesin (This isn't for skill expression, but more so for his presence in the games' history. I don't think there is a single player in the game that doesn't know the name quesin.)

Yeah, AlphaZ says alot of stuff I think is right for what the Hall of Fame should represent.

I know it's a subjective list with whatever criteria you choose, but to me the history of the game is the most interesting and Hall of Fame seems like a good place to induct those historical players into.

Since it doesn't seem like the Hall of Fame's purpose is to represent PR2 history, I won't mention players that were ahead of their time historically, but Tibere is an absolute must for this list as the exception to the rule.

Tibere is the most accomplished player in PR2 history and was ahead of the curve for over a decade. That is unmatched longevity by a long shot. The only other player with close to as much longevity is Mag, who has been a top tier player for 7 years, and even while Mag was at the top, Tib was a consistent rival for that top spot.

Even now afaik he's still active in the Pr3 comm, and he is def a very good player there and an admin. Just simply unmatched influence to serve the PR community for over a decade.

Tbf, in my opinion he is so far ahead of all the other ppl in the hof that it almost seems cheap to represent him there lol

i don't know if this is allowed, but im going to make a self nomination for HoF: @Addy i am and have been a part of this community for 12 years now. With all of my time here in jv, i have participated in a lot of contests, as well as hosting and judging contests. i have hosted my resurrected version styler of the month for 2 years. From my experience of hosting and judging a contest, it takes time as if it was a job, it took a lot out of me, so i have a lot of passion for those who host and judge a contest today. i judged Styler of the week, Racer of the week, and 3D pr2 style contest. after the contest days, i just mainly contribute to participating in Campaign of month, i've been actively posting a submission for almost 2 years straight. I have won 10 times in Cotm.

I would like to give my boss man a nomination, @Gram alt himself. Gram is the creator of Styler of the week whenever all of the "OTW" contests were prevalent, he accepted me as my first ever judging job. Gram also hosted the contest "Racer of the Week"  where i also was a judge. after the contest days, he became mod for a shot time then created a youtube channel where it became his company. i can't really think of anything else that he has done for the community.

@Sushie one of the OG members of jv that still is around. Sushie created one of the best things to ever have been made on JV, Survivor! talking from experice: actually being able to experience a in real life survivor was the best experience i had ever experience on JV ever. i can't imagine what its like being the host of survivor, big props to you good sir!
