I came across an interesting article talking about how employers refuse to hire Gen Z candidates from ages 12-27 (1997-2012). There are many more out there, but I figured I'd choose this one and gather you guys' thoughts and perspectives on this because most of you are Gen Zs. Do you find this article offensive, stereotypical, discriminatory, or what?
Mainly, they argue that Gen Z's are lackadaisical job drifters who demand more money than what they're qualified for. AGE seems to be a large factor here, and to me, it seems like they're making a determination about you guys potentially having a poor work-ethic and lack of experience based on your AGE alone. So basically, the skills and experience on your resume could be really impressive but will end up being overlooked and thrown into the trash based on your AGE alone.
While some employers disagree, others do not.
Key points from the article:
?"By scrutinizing education and work history timelines, employers may inadvertently introduce bias based on age, rather than focusing on the candidate's qualifications and suitability for the role."
?"Gen Zers, who are between the ages of 12 and 27, often don't have many ways around this obstacle."
?"Nearly 80 percent of hiring managers said they worried about Gen Z's lack of experience as a younger generation."
?"58 percent were worried about the generation's unprofessional attitude, and 63 percent expressed concern that they were known to job hop."
?"In the survey of 1,000 hiring managers, 42 percent admitted to considering age when reviewing applications. On both sides of the equation, being Gen Z or being a senior could cause your resume to be thrown into the trash."
So yeah, I'd love to hear what you guys (Gen Z's) think about this article because it seems to drive a large wedge between your chances of getting hired by employers (who are probably old heads). A lot of the old heads seem to think that people under 30 are just kids who have bad attitudes and don't want to work because they're lackadaisical job drifters. If you guys find that offensive, speak up and tell us why.
Don't hold anything back, and please don't shoot the messenger here. I'm just telling you all what I know and what I hear often. I'm going to listen to what you guys have to say and try to remain unbiased here.

Welcome to... Word of the Week! The game is simple. Guess the word depending on the week's topic, each player has 2 guesses (if said player fails to get the word on its initial 2 guesses, they will now have 1 guess per day to improve thread activity. This was suggested by @Master Raiden) and each message should be done like this :
"1. Guess #1
2. Guess #2"
The player who guesses the given word first wins the weekly WotW.
Today's topic : Space
Hint : It is a rock
Hint #2 : It's been used in a title of a Jiggmin game
Top Winners :
1st place - @TRUC (2 wins)
2nd place - @~JBG~ (1 win)
3rd place - N/A

JV and the Games Community Feedback
Over the last couple weeks, there has been some obvious discontent with players both towards the game and the staff member. As a CA, it was part of my responsibility to acknowledge said discontent and try to be the message bearer to improve and provide happiness.
That being said, I went around and asked different community members (mainly the most active ones) on their feedback towards JV/The Games, concerns, and issues with staff members. If I did not ask for your perspective, I deeply apologize, you may wish to include whatever thoughts as a reply to this thread. I sent both a summary and the raw (anonymous) messages to the admin team @bls1999 @Eternal @Dangevin for their response.
I think an important part of this though is open communication and transparency. Yes, I can relay messages back and forth all we want and if you ever have something you want to say but cant say it directly to a staff member feel free to come to me. However, I'd like to open this for public discussion.
Thus, see below a summary of the community perspectives, their issues with the games/staff, and the staff response.
Community Feedback Summary
Game Concerns and Updates:
- Negativity in Forums: Users are troubled by the negativity and some bordering on harassment, suggesting a need for moderation against non-constructive criticism.
- Split Views on Game State: There is a division in the community:
- Some praise features like teleport blocks and desire more innovations.
- Others call for foundational changes, such as new game modes and creative block types like elevators.
- Feature Requests:
- Strong demand for incorporating "PR3's superior level editor" into PR2.
- Requests for customization options like color-changing blocks and interactive blocks to introduce new gameplay mechanics.
- Desire for new content such as music, hats, and user-generated stickers and backgrounds.
- AI Opponents: A notable push for adding AI opponents in maps to provide a more dynamic and challenging gameplay experience.
Staff Feedback:
- Performance Views:
- Some acknowledge the staff's efforts under limited resources.
- Others critique the minimal support and slow updates, fearing the game might stagnate.
- Development Community Involvement: There is a strong call for opening up the game’s development to the community to rejuvenate its development.
- Transparency and Communication: High frustration regarding poor communication from administrators, with a demand for more transparency and quicker community feedback responses.
- Event Engagement: Suggestions to reduce barriers for contest entries and to host more live events to enhance community engagement.
Administrator Response to Perspectives
- Acknowledgment of Issues: The administrators recognize the feedback and the need to address community concerns effectively.
- Resource Constraints: They discuss limitations due to PR2 being in "legacy support," meaning not many groundbreaking changes are planned.
- Community Involvement: Responses suggest openness to community suggestions that align with the current game infrastructure and do not require major overhauls.
- Communication Efforts: There's an admission of lacking in communication and a commitment to improve interaction with the community.
- Future of PR2:
- Eternal mentions that PR2 will never return to its "glory days" and is now more about maintaining and supporting nostalgia.
- Bls mentions difficulties in sharing PR2 client code as per Jiggmin’s stipulation but encourages community contributions to the server code.
- Admin Challenges: Admins discuss their personal commitments outside of PR2, which affect their availability and response times to community issues.
Quotes from Discussions:
"I feel like there are some people that are a little bit pessimistic/negative/toxic in the forums, not mentioning names. They're not doing anything against ToS or anything but I believe that there should be taught the difference between constructive criticism and bullying/harassment." - Community Feedback
"The lack of updates might be killing what little there is left of the pr2 community." - Community Feedback
"The current administration feels like a bit of a skeleton crew. It feels like it is rather just do enough to keep the game running, or give up on it. So I am excited that the game is even still going and happy for everything the admins do." - Community Feedback
"I can understand this perspective, as I was once the one critical of Jiggmin for not doing more for the community." - Bls
"We aren't pushing new content on a regular schedule. We aren't making ground-breaking changes..." - Bls
"Communication has definitely been lacking from me, and I regret that that has been the case." - Bls
"AT THE END OF THE DAY. PR2 will NEVER see it's glory days again. It's the unfortunate hard truth that has to be stated. Flash games and web-games in general are experiencing similar fates. Kongregate is a prime example." - Eternal
"If you have a good idea for a contest, pitch it in CaM. Stay persistent. I can guarantee we answer every and all CaM threads." - Eternal
"I would simply ask that if we haven't responded in a few days to a thread you made in CAM that you simply bump your post. We promise that we'll get back to it eventually." - Dangevin
"If you have a question about something you can always DM me or ping me on the JV server." - Dangevin
Closing Remarks
Please feel free to continue the open discussion below.

First off, let me just say that I'm not dead. I don't want you guys to think that I've completely abandoned the last thread and ignored your posts. I just needed a detox from social media for a week because I was getting overwhelmed with the last thread. I mean damn, y'all were kickin' my ass in there lmfao! ? I had like 3-5 people coming at me all at once lol. But you know what, I needed that ass whoopin' because it taught me a very valuable lesson. It taught me that I need to do a better job of emphasizing my viewpoints before I dive head first into a topic. I also need to do more research as well.
At some point, I knew I was going to get cornered (by 3-5 people) and checkmated. So, I forfeited and took my exit because I felt like I had nothing else left to contribute to the conversations. That's why I didn't reply back to anyone else after replying back to 5 different people. When you're the host of a thread, and the majority of your comments disagree with you, it can be pretty stressful. However, I just looked at it as a challenge for me to conquer and strengthen my character.
I really wasn't expecting a lot of you guys to be so knowledgable in the BICYCLE LANES thread. Even though there are still some viewpoints that I just don't agree with, I still learned a valuable lesson from reading everyone's posts. Sometimes, it's best to walk away from an argument because the people whom you're arguing with, are a lot more knowledgable than you in certain areas. 2 years ago, things might have been different. But now, I'm learning to improve my weaknesses and rectify my viewpoints because sometimes they can be a little misguided.
If you really think about it, one of my main purposes for creating controversial threads is to bring out the best in you guys. I was testing you guys to see what your strengths and weaknesses are. A lot of you like to sit back, read, and lurk around waiting for the perfect opportunity to shine. Then I sat there at my computer desk thinking, 'mhm, how can I get these people to reply more?' ? Controversial topics are the antidote to cure a silent person. Man, you guys are like vultures flying around in circles looking for dead meat ?
Ultimately, from now on I want you guys to challenge me on my threads because I need all the critiques that I can get. Even if they're long posts, I still need to make some improvements. @Uptight 534 @Camer the Dragon @Mia @Magniloquent @Master Raiden So again, thank you gentlemen for challenging me on my viewpoints. I threw a few curveballs at you guys and you all ended up catching them.
