  TARIFFS
Posted by: Different - 12th April 2025, 12:07 AM - Forum: Discussion Hall - Replies (4)

Someone want to step up to the plate and explain to us how this man’s huge tariffs on China is benefiting us? He’s been in office for what, 3 months now and he’s already making a mess out of this country. A 145% tax tariff on China (which is where we get most of our goods from) sounds expensive. A vast majority of our goods in the US are literally made from China. Then this man had the gall to say that “America will be rich again”. I don’t see how the hell that’s possible with these ridiculous tariffs. Then he lied and said the gas prices were going down, when in reality, they’re steadily climbing as we speak.

When you’re a billionaire, you don’t really give a shit about the American people. Maybe that’s a harsh thing to say, but it’s usually affirmative when you pay attention to a person’s actions.

Anyway, what do you guys think about these ridiculous tariffs? I wanna hear from real humans, no bots!

Cannot rate level 7 days after last rating
Posted by: Master Raiden - 4th April 2025, 7:03 AM - Forum: Bugs and Suggestions - Replies (2)

Problem: Players have to wait more than 7 days after rating a level before they can rate it again
Type of Problem: Server
Expected Behavior: Players have to wait exactly 7 days (604,800 seconds) before rating a level again
Actual Behavior: Players have to wait more than 7 days before rating a level again
Steps to Reproduce the Problem:
1. Rate Memories by Stunt (6508994) 5 stars
2. Wait exactly 7 days
3. Try to rate it 5 stars again
You will get the message: Error: You have recently voted on this level. You can vote on it again in a week.

Additional Information:
This problem lies in the platform-racing-2-server/common/queries/ratings.php file.
On line 57, old ratings are deleted if they are more than 7 days old.
This means that ratings that are exactly 7 days old will not get deleted, and players will have to wait an extra day for the query to be run again.

Given that players can rate levels during any time of the day, they will most likely have to wait more than 7 days before they can rate again.
For example, if I rate a level 6 hours into the day, the rating deletion query will run X.75 days after the rating was made, meaning that I will have to wait 7.75 days before I can rate again.
No matter when I rate a level, I will have to wait 7.00-7.99 days (average of 7.5) before I can rate it again.

So I think the rating deletion query should delete ratings that are 6.5+ days old, so that players will only have to wait 6.50-7.49 days (average of 7) instead.

Either that, or the daily queries should be run more often.

Big Grin QoL Additions/Suggestions
Posted by: Vibj - 3rd April 2025, 4:25 AM - Forum: PR2 Suggestions - Replies (9)

I wanted to share some quality of life suggestions:

- Enable user to click through Chat/PMs/Friends while queued for a match. Disable function when a player selects "ready" so as to draw user focus back to their queue.

- Remove 10 second time limit on kicking Guild members or enable users to kick multiple Guild members at a single time (check box, etc.).

- Add a "reset" button on the level search tab so as to clear the tab from searches.

- Disable level voting for players who forfeit a match (I'm guilty of this myself).

- Enable RNG to check whether or not all players already have the item that the RNG is about to offer. Perhaps this could be done by having RNG roll after players have queued into the lobby or have all pressed play. I imagine this would only delay loading by a few seconds. If you don't wanna do that then maybe just give the winning player an EXP bonus if they win and already have that item.

- Allow players to play all Campaigns on the same server. Maybe enable pages on the Campaign tab? Having them arranged in sequential order would be nice too.

- Display original publication date for levels. Example: Newbieland 2's date says 2013...

- Enable users to change their username every 90 days.

- Alter EXP formula to be more respectful of players' time. I can think of a few valid reasons to do this now. The player count just isn't there anymore. The exponential becomes frankly ludicrous after level 30. Maybe alter the formula up to Rank 50 and then leave the default formula after that so as to not ruin the lives of the people who have been simming for the past 10 years.

- Fix F@H rank up tokens. Also can the max amount of rank up tokens be an even number like 10?  Big Grin

Welcome to Round 74 of Campaign of the Month!

You'll be able to submit your Campaigns on this thread.
Additionally, if you have any levels you'd like to advertise, you can post them here too.

Guidelines

- Do not copy others' submissions.
- Do not include levels that are already in permanent Campaigns or award prizes (i.e. Hat Factory and The Golden Compass cannot be used).
- Try not to include levels that include advanced glitches or maneuvers.
- You are limited to two levels per creator per campaign (this includes any of their accounts).
- Please include Level IDs with your submissions!

You are allowed to include any level in your Campaign that appears on PR2 (including your own); however, all levels must adhere to the PR2 rules (e.g. the level Treasury by PooZy would not adhere to the PR2 rules due to having profanity). The contest host (me) has the authority to modify/add rules as they see fit.

Submission Format

PR2 Name: Your PR2 name (the one you want your prize on)

  🏆 PERFECTIONISM 🏆
Posted by: Different - 15th March 2025, 1:48 PM - Forum: Discussion Hall - Replies (8)

Have you ever worked on something significant and found yourself always tinkering with it? While you do want it done the right way, it can be highly stressful nitpicking and sorting through all the things that may already appear to be correct the first time. In a way, this can lead to someone having compulsive behavior (perfectionism OCD) towards fixing things because they have these unhealthy, intrusive thoughts and urges to improve something that appears to be right the first time. Perfection is a double-edged sword because while it can teach you to do your absolute best in what you do, it can be contagious because then you’re constantly finding yourself making everything else perfect.

This type of behavior can be spotted at your job when your manager wants everything done a certain way, perfectly in a timely manner. It’s crunch time, and those people don’t play around! Fixing computers, cars, home appliances, songwriting, etc. There’s all sorts of different compulsive behaviors for whatever it is you’re going through. For example, you might frequently check your bedroom (before you leave your house) to see if everything is flawlessly and neatly put away, sequentially. While a perfectionist won’t leave until their bedroom looks flawless.

Nobody is perfect, but there’s always room for improvement to make things better until it meets decent satisfaction. When it does meet satisfaction, then you need to stop tinkering with it and move on. Having a strong desire towards giving your best effort in doing something is one thing, but it doesn’t have to be perfect where you’ll end up obsessing over it and losing sleep. This is also known as “Maladaptive perfectionism” where you’ve placed these extremely high, unrealistic standards on yourself to perform a task, flawlessly.

Maybe this is why a lot of you refuse to post threads on JV. Perhaps it’s because you have anxiety about your writing style not being flawless enough for everyone else to understand. Or you’re self-conscious about posting because you’re afraid of how it’ll be perceived by others. Ultimately, this ends up turning you guys into lurkers who just logs on and reads things without giving your two cents, correct? So unless it’s controversial, nobody seems to give a shit to post anything or reply because their feelings aren’t affected, I noticed that. So folks, are you obsessed with doing things perfectly, or is adequate satisfaction more up your alley?

  BLOOD MOON 🌕

One of the most special phenomenons of all time (next to the blue moon). It’s not the rarest because the last one was back in November 2022, and the next one will be in September 2025; I’m pretty sure this one is visible for Australia, Africa, etc. If for some reason you fall asleep, or you’re unable to take photos of this special event, then you can always see it in the fall. It’s not like the blue moon where it happens occasionally. Anyone preparing to go see it and take pictures?

When was the last time you thought you were really skilled in something? You’ve got tons of experience, you know all the tricks and secrets, the cards are always dealt in your favor, and you have the right mindset to crush your opponents leaving them in your dust. At this point, you’re thinking: “There’s no way in hell that I can be defeated!” It’s funny how we all consider ourselves to be the best in the world at something when we’re on a serious winning streak. But unfortunately, there’s always that one person who comes along and obliterates us. They’re just lurking around in the dark shadows somewhere waiting to rain on your parade. To them, your game is hysterical. They don’t give a damn about your feelings, man. They’re here to win. They’re not here to play around with you, especially if there’s money on the line.

It can be quite devastating because you’re not used to taking an L. You thought you were really good until they show you that you’re a baby fish swimming with blood-thirsty, savage sharks who are on a higher level than you are. The steaks are high, there’s a bunch of money on the line, and the last thing that you want to do is go home empty-handed. You see, nobody likes to lose… and I mean nobody! So when you do lose in something like poker, pool, sports, chess, or whatever it is… then you start to wonder what you did wrong.

Now you must learn to tuck your tail between your legs and accept that ass whoopin’ instead of *****in’ about it because there’s always room for you to improve. On the flip side, you just hate to see that one person coming because you know you’re in for a nightmare from hell. Famous quote from Ric Flair: “To be the man, you gotta beat the man!” So to become the GOAT, you need to destroy your kryptonite who’s better than you and everyone else. This is why 10,000 hours in the lab is incredibly momentous because you’re putting in the work to achieve larger goals.

I’ll give you guys an example of a game that I was playing on my iPhone yesterday; these people are very competitive, so it’s interesting. The name of the game app is called Blitz - Win Cash, and it’s quite simple - you create an account, follow the rules, invest real money into your account, and play games against real people to earn real money. Yesterday, I played Black Jack 21. I was on a serious winning streak until something went wrong, suddenly, and I started getting my ass handed to me by more experienced players. I was just shy of $40 (that I had accumulated during my winning streak over time) then suddenly I’m at $5… like wtf?! I’ve literally lost a lot of money playing people better than me.

Winning streaks will make you feel like you’re invincible. Nobody can defeat me, I’m the man! Well, that is until that one person (if not multiple people) comes along and obliterates you. Now your pockets are empty and you have nothing to cash out with. Even with sports, you could be playing for a specific team in the NBA or NFL, and your friends and family were betting on you with Draft Kings and you’ve let them all down. Now you have to hear it from them when you get home. It’s painful taking an L but it’s a life lesson to grow and improve your game. When it comes to that one person, you’re kryptonite… subconsciously, you’re getting irritated with them because they’re handing you L’s on a silver platter. Consciously, you’re considering thanking them for showing you a better way to improve your game.

Losing streaks will make you feel devastated because over time the message will get rooted into your brain telling you that you’re not good enough. If you’re mentally strong, you’ll overcome these adversities and have the fortitude to succeed in the future. So with Black Jack 21, yes I was pissed because a more experienced player was kicking my ass. However, I watched the footage and learned something about myself compared to him. I learned that I was jumping too far ahead and going too fast, while their game was much more methodical and slow-paced; there’s a reason why the tortoise ends up beating the hare. So guys, how do you normally bounce back from adversity when you’re on a serious losing streak?
