Hey, I'm the sleepy sage. I'm no one special, just a guy way past his PR2 Prime who does game development and pixel art and is a nut for constructing gaming computers.
Anyway I guess I gotta post a thread here to prove I'm not Evil Aliens.
This site looks just like when I last saw it in 2015. Thats awesome.

Be careful with the poll because whatever answer you choose first, can hurt you in the long run.
It's 6pm on a Monday evening when you come home from work as a Software Engineer (making six figures) working from 8am to 6pm. All of a sudden, you notice that a MASSIVE tree (from your backyard) has crushed half of your house. You then see a large, 6 foot 5 man, rush to his black corvette with a chainsaw and a dark hoodie drive away in a hurry.
Unfortunately, the neighbors didn't see him, nor did they hear the damage because they just got home from work, too. You call your homeowners insurance company, ALLSTATE, to have them send a homeowners insurance adjuster to take a look at the damage. After they learn that you, nor anyone else has proof of the damage, they leave and go about their business. But, not before telling you that you need some medical help, and that they can't cover the damage because you have zero proof as to what happened. In other words, they think you're crazy for telling them that you saw someone that may not have been there in the first place.
Then they also tell you that the tree looks like it was rotting away anyways (even though it was healthy) and was prone to fall at some point. It seems like nobody is on your side, even though ALLSTATE always makes that BS claim, right? Everyone thinks you're crazy for claiming that you saw a man with a chainsaw, but can't prove anything.

Fifteen minutes later, a stray COYOTE comes out of nowhere and attacks you because he can smell that you have a rare, GOLDEN blood type that tastes delicious to him. You scream for help, but there's no one else around to hear it. The COYOTE then leaves, once he's decided that he's gotten a huge chunk out of you.
Now, not only is your house damaged by a fallen tree, you now need medical treatment from vicious, COYOTE attacks. What are you going to do, now?

Hello! Welcome to the very first Level of the Week Speedrunning Contest!
You've heard of Level of the Week (I'd hope so, at least), but have you heard of a contest for speedrunning through winning submissions of Level of the Week? Doubt it! That's because this is the very first contest of its kind (for Level of the Week)! Seeing as how it's the Holidays, it's time to give back to the community by giving everyone a good source of entertainment, and to reward those who give it their best efforts. The basis of this contest revolves around getting the best time on Level of the Week winning submissions, or getting the best time of playing through consecutive groups of submissions. Think you got what it takes? Keep on reading...
How It Works
This contest revolves around two different categories: best single times and best section times. For both categories, you are required to play through levels in the Tournament Server, and to reply to this thread with the following information:
- Your PR2 username:
- What category you're participating in (single time or section time):
- What level or section are you submitting for:
- What time did you get:
- Timestamp of when your playthrough of the level occurred (for those going for section times):
- Link to video recording / livestream of your playthrough:
For single times: Your objective is to get the best time on any of the 68 levels you can play through for this contest. Make sure to do your attempts in the Tournament Server. If your submitted times are done in any other server your time will be disqualified. The time that appears in-game at the end of a level is the time that you must submit in this thread. If you get the best time for any levels you submitted your times for by January 15th, 2023 at 12 AM CT you win!
For section times: Your objective is to get the best time by playing through one of the two available sections of levels. The time it takes between each level to start your next level is included in your ending time. Any editing of the submitted video recording to speed up transitions between each level will be disqualified. The times you achieve for each individual level during this run can be submitted separately, but a time stamp must be made when you submit the video recording. If you get the best time for either sections of levels you submitted your times for by January 15th, 2023 at 12 AM CT you win!
The list of levels and their sections will be listed in the post below this post. The best times will be updated from time to time up until the contest ends, which is January 15th, 2023 at 12 AM CT.
Rewards
A competition without rewards!? Sacrilege! Anyway, there are quite a few rewards for those that end up getting the best time for any individual level or getting the best time for any of the 2 sections.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The account that created the winning submission will be sent a Private Message (PM) on Platform Racing 2 asking what prize they would like, and on what account they would like it on. If the owner of the account does not respond within 3 days I will be putting the appropriate prize for the amount of times they have won on the account that won. The account listed under "Your PR2 Username" in your submission post will obtain the prize for submitting a winning submission.
- If you get the best time for any of the 2 sections, you will be rewarded with the elusive Artifact Hat! You can also exchange this reward for 34 million EXP if you already have the Artifact Hat or would rather have the EXP.
(Note: You can give this reward to a different account if you'd like!)
There will be a potential total of 2 Artifact Hats being rewarded in this competition, or a potential 68 million EXP for getting the best time in just sections alone!
What the Artifact Hat looks like:
![[Image: Artifact-Hat-Prize.png]](https://i.ibb.co/2ddxvPq/Artifact-Hat-Prize.png)
- If you submit a section playthrough, you will be rewarded with 2,500,000 EXP! This can stack, meaning if you submit a playthrough of both sections, you can earn a total of 5 million EXP!
(Note: This can only be rewarded once, and you can only earn this reward by submitting playthroughs via this thread or Discord. Simply making a video playthrough of them and then not submitting it here will not earn you the EXP reward.)
- If you get the best time on any individual level, you will be rewarded with 1,000,000 EXP! This can stack, meaning you can win this reward multiple times, so you can potentially win up to a total of 67 million EXP!!!
(Note: You can give this reward to a different account for each individual win, meaning if you get the best time in multiple levels, you can give 1,000,000 EXP to several different accounts of your choice.)
- If you manage to get the best time in both sections, there could maybe be an additional reward for anyone insane enough to get the best time in both sections. Guess we will see.
Rules
- You must submit your times using the format listed in the How It Works section of this post.
- All playthroughs of each level must be played in the Tournament Server. Submitting a time that takes place in any other server will result in a disqualification.
- For each submission you'd like to make, please make a new post in this thread detailing what your submission is.
- Any edits to video recordings mid-way through its playthrough will result in that submission being disqualified.
- Glitches are allowed.
- No cowboy hats allowed in Single Playthroughs unless the level has a 100% chance of Super Flying Cowboy mode. If you get Super Flying Cowboy mode activated while in a Section Playthrough on a level that has less than a 100% of it activating, restart the race and the time it took to load into the first attempt won't count.
- Altering your own winning submission (if you've won one of the weeks) so that you get a clearly better time than other users will result in a disqualification.
- In the off chance that a level becomes unplayable, whether through the winning submission becoming unpublished or things are done to the level to prevent a finish, a new level will be cycled in to help the contest continue. Previous section times will remain intact.
- For single playthroughs, the time that appears in-game at the end of the level is the time that you must submit.
- For section playthroughs, the time between each level are included with your time.
- For section playthroughs, if you want a time you achieved on an individual level from your section playthrough submitted , you must make a separate post with what individual time you'd like to submit along with the time stamp in the video recording where it takes place.
- Times must be submitted by January 15th, 2023 at 12 AM CT.

Flash Player: Intense rotation lag on modern processors |

Posting this here in hopes that someone here has more information:
The process of drawing some forms of text rotation in Flash Player seem to cause intense lag on some modern processors, despite being perfectly fine on something older. So far all testing has been on Windows.
The problem seems to occur on processors with 16 or more logical processors (though this is not confirmed)
There has been some work over on PR3 to determine who it happens to, and thus a possible cause.
So far, we know the following:
It happens in several games
This bug happens in both PR2 and PR3 from my testing. It also seems to happen in Learn to Fly 2, especially in the shop.
It is hardware dependent
The problem has been confirmed to occur on Ryzen 2000 and 5000 series processors. It also occurs on Intel 12th gen processors, and there has been a report of it happening on an i9-9900K.
It is specific to certain forms of text
I don't know what's different about player text and art layer text, but on both PR2 and PR3, the lag only occurs with player nametag text.
It is fixed by setting Flash Player to run on only one logical processor
This is a terrible solution, but it does work. Unfortunately, this can cause lag in other places, at least in PR3. Works great for LTF2 though, it made it playable for me.
It is fixed by using Adobe Scout to profile the bug
The bug does not happen when using a debug version of flash player and profiling it with Adobe Scout. The lag immediately returns when profiling ends.
Lag is independent of resolution and quality.
It just happens. Changing the quality of resolution seems to have no effect on the problem at all.
CPU usage is lower than expected.
Despite lagging, the reported CPU usage from something like Task Manager suggests that Flash Player uses less CPU while the lag is happening.
Hardware acceleration has nothing to do with it.
The bug seems to happen regardless of whether hardware acceleration is enabled or not. The problem also seems to occur without regard for GPU vendor.
No specific cause of this problem is currently known.
The quickest way to test this problem that I know of is to play Learn to Fly 2 in flash player and get to the shop. If the rotation of the menu on the right causes intense lag, this problem probably affects you.
Below is a list of processors the problem is reported to occur on. OS is also shown if known. If a specific processor isn't known, then the processor series is listed.
AMD Ryzen 2700X, Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 5700X, Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 5900X
Intel i7-12650H, Windows 11
Intel 12th Gen CPU
Intel i9-9900K
Below is a list of processors the problem is reported to not occur on. OS is shown if known
AMD A4-5300 APU, Windows 7
Intel i5-8400T, Windows 10
Intel i5-4200U
AMD Ryzen 5 5600H, Windows 11
More tests would be greatly appreciated.

PR2 FOR ADULTS ONLY - NO KIDS STUFF! |

Have you ever stopped to wonder what Pr2 would be like, if they had an ADULT version as well as a kid version? Let's face it... most of us have all grown up, and the last thing we wanna see is another kiddy feature added to Pr2. I get that a lot of people want to remain nostalgic to Pr2 and all it's glory years. But, when you start seeing someone pack their suitcase at the door, they're gone for good. That's why the servers had to be reduced from 8 to 4 because it was getting stale, really fast.
![[Image: iEXO9TL.jpg]](https://i.imgur.com/iEXO9TL.jpg)
Let's just cut to the chase, shall we. Instead of getting stunned by toy guns and goofy ass lasers, why not get SHOT by realistic-looking MILITARY weapons like an M24 SNIPER WEAPON SYSTEM, an AR15 assault rifle, or a real GLOCK showing BLOOD animations coming from your player? Same thing when you SLASH them to death with a SWORD and SHOCK them with lightning; when you get SHOCKED, you're BURNED to animation ashes.
What grown ass, 18+ year old man wants to play a kiddy game with kiddy animations, no voice actors, and corny ass sound effects? You see my point? I'm not trying to hate on Jiggmin or anything else that they've all done for this game; I'm just calling a spade a spade. 3/4ths of online players are MACROING every single day because they wanna see their ranks go up. Do you honestly think they're stopping to play tournaments or race against buddies from 2009?... Hell no! That's why there needs to be an ADULT version of Pr2 to keep folks interested.
You wanna see HEADSHOTS, characters coughing or spitting up BLOOD, and no limit to SWEARING, then this would be the version of PR2 to do it!
If I get hit by a weapon or if someone SHOOTS me, I should make a sound and lose BLOOD for it... not get stunned and make zero sounds; it's too friendly! There should also be ENEMIES with GUNS (not egg minions) in the game to stop you from getting to the ugly finish. Otherwise, it's not a real pc game without some sort of challenge presented to you.
![[Image: 0kAeVVS.gif]](https://i.imgur.com/0kAeVVS.gif)
![[Image: ABqqUaO.gif]](https://i.imgur.com/ABqqUaO.gif)
In DM modes, there needs to be an animation where your player's soul leaves his or her body, while the corpse or carcass is still in the game until it's completely over. If you've played Dark Souls, then you know what I'm talking about. Not to mention, BLOOD splatter all over blocks, weapons, and players whenever SHOTS are fired and BULLETS ricochet off of blocks.
Instead of 'Vaults of Magics', let's just call it a 'Weaponry Arsenal', where you purchase weapons with real dollars, to go and annihilate your opponents. You would still have access to all the other stuff from 'Vaults of Magics', but then most of the arsenal would have weapons, too.
For example, you go online and pay $15 to unlock a GLOCK 19 or even badass gear, instead of having a goofy ass looking laser that stuns your opponent, or running around in kiddy gear. During the gameplay levels, the level creator should have the option to add vending machines and select what kind of ADULT weapons should be in the machine. It would be the basic, ADULT weapons instead of purchased weapons. You just find a vending machine in the game and press the action button to pick it up and use it. If the machine is gray, then there are no more weapons available in that machine.
All the best effective weapons would be available for purchase through your 'Weaponry Arsenal'. F@H users would also get benefits as well, too. So, no one feels left out. You would gain access to weapons (and have them appear in your arsenal) that simply cannot be purchased through your arsenal or earned through any tournaments, regularly. Things like Atomic Acid Bombs with a red shockwave ring around it, depending on how many pts you fold.
Here's an example (skip to 1:13):
Wanna make this even more interesting? Why not make it 8 players in one race? 4 just simply isn't enough. So, if @bls1999 managed to pull that off and add an additional 4 slots for more players to play, then that would make the gameplays even more interesting. For the ADULT version of Pr2, you would just clone the kiddy version and apply these crucial changes (including a new background).
If this is something you wanna see, speak up. Otherwise, enjoy playing a flash game that died a long ass time ago. Compared to other pc games, "Stick Figure Penalty" is Jiggmin's biggest competitor.

Does the Block Limit still exist? |

On the level editor, I remember there was a block limit, as in, at a certain point you couldn't place anything because you were limited to a certain number of blocks, although I'll admit it was a large number, but I wanted to make huge levels.

I'm Doomed Runner, maybe someone remembers me? If not that's okay, but this game (PR2) was my childhood. I spent countless hours making levels and stuff. I'm 26 years old now lol.
I was the first to discover a lot of mine glitches, and people were always telling me my levels were too hard lol.
I think the reason I stayed away for such a long time is because the last time I was making a level, I hit the block limit, became sad, and sorta moved on, but PR2 stayed in my heart, and I think if there is still a community for the game, I'll be part of it, too much nostalgia and good memories to stay away lol. (and right now good memories are good to think about, my life hasn't exactly been good).

New Obtainable Epic Upgrades |

It's been a long time since new obtainable epic upgrades were added to the game. So I thought of adding some more that are still unavailable.
I chose the next levels since the level and the epic upgrade are related and lastly a level that is more difficult than the usual levels (similar to The Legend by nedy)
New Epic Upgrades:
Taco Set: Salad by makie98 (5880537)
Elephant Set: The ZOO by Stunt (6511562)
Jigg Hat: Platform Perfect by fleirdo (1559206)
P.D: I'd also like to point out that 2 of these level creators have been publishing awesome levels for the past year, so it'd be nice to see a level of them have their own special prize for all the creativity and effort that they've put in this year.
